Audio recording of a 1984 religious service of The Church Universal and Triumphant, an American based cult once led by Elizabeth Clare Prophet. Originally a mix of eastern religion, Christianity, and new age beliefs, during the 1980's Prophet began predicting a nuclear war was going to break out between the U.S. and Russia, and as a result, the cult began to move more and more towards survivalism. The group eventually purchased a tract of land in Montana which they developed into a compound complete with underground shelters that the cult members believed would allow them to survive the coming nuclear holocaust. The followers had all sorts of wacky beliefs involving UFOs and something called "the international capitalist communist conspiracy", but by far the two funniest things about the cult are the way that they talk really, really fast like the guy who used to do the old Micro Machines commercials when they pray and their firm belief in the evils of rock music. The list of musicians/bands that the group prays will see the light and quit their wicked ways is so completely all over the map that it is astounding.
